Notice of Race (NoR)
The notation ‘[NP]’ in a rule means that a boat may not protest another boat for breaking that rule. This changes RRS 60.1(a).
The notation ‘[DP]’ in a rule means that a breach of the rule may, at the discretion of the protest committee, be less than disqualification.
1 RULES
1.1 The event is governed by the rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing.
2 SAILING INSTRUCTIONS
2.1 The sailing instructions are available on the Crystal Lake Yacht Club website at:
3 COMMUNICATION
3.1The official notice board is located outside on the north wall of the CLYC Clubhouse.
3.2 [DP] All boats shall carry a VHF radio capable of communicating on channels 13, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72
3.3 On the water, the race committee will make courtesy broadcasts to competitors on VHF radio. The channel will be stated in the SIs.
3.4[DP] While racing, except in an emergency, a boat shall not make voice or data transmissions and shall not receive voice or data communication that is not available to all boats.
4 ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY
4.1 The event is open to all boats of the E-Scow, whose skipper is a member in good standing with the National Class E-Scow Association (NCESA).
4.2 All dues, fees and obligations must be paid by the owners and/or helmsmen of the boat prior to racing.
4.3 All competing boats are required comply with State and Federal laws and to display a current state registration on the boat being sailed in accordance with the State of Michigan laws.

5 CREW LIMITATIONS
5.1 Crews may be changed at any time during a series or regatta.

6.2 Times posted are for Warning Signals.
6.3 For morning races, no warning signal will be made after 12:00 p.m.
6.4 For afternoon races, no warning signal will be made after 4:00 p.m.
6.5 On the last day of the regatta, no warning signal will be made after 12:00 p.m.
7 PENALTY SYSTEM
7.1 The Scoring Penalty, RRS 44.3, applies.
7.2 Rule V2 will be in effect. This modifies RRS 44.1
8 SCORING
8.1 Two (2) races are required to be completed to constitute a series.
8.2 A boats series score will be the total of her race scores excluding her worst scores as calculated from the following table. This modifies RRS A2.1.

9 INSURANCE
9.1 Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance.
10 PRIZES
10.1 Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third places in the overall regatta standings.
11 FURTHER INFORMATION
11.1 All off-lake boats, including powerboats, must be washed at an approved DNR Boat wash station. An approved DNR wash station will be at the CLYC from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2024. Boats arriving prior to 4:00 p.m. must wait to launch until their boat is washed. Boats arriving after 9:00 p.m. must wash at the DNR launch ramp located on the East end of Mollineaux Rd just off of M-115. Please follow the signs.
